Look Evey, they are using your slogan for Human Rights Day! “Speak Up, Nelson Tasman, Speak Up World” ….
Human Rights Day – 10/12/10
Below the self-explanatory note concerning the Human Rights Day, 10 December, 2010 from Vladlen Stefanov, Chief, National Institutions and Regional Mechanisms Section of OHCHR.
Dear Colleagues and Partners,
As you know, on Human Rights Day, 10 December, 2010 the focus will be on human rights defenders who act to end discrimination.
It has been decided that on this occasion the slogan will be:
Speak Up… Stop Discrimination
The slogan invites us all to play a role in defending against discrimination, and, more broadly, in ensuring respect for human rights. Every one of us can be a human rights defender against discrimination and make a difference. Civil society organizations and communities may want to highlight the efforts of their local, everyday human rights defenders at Human Rights Day events.
We will shortly provide you with a visual design integrating this slogan that you can use for events, banners, websites, t-shirts, posters and so on. Information notes on defenders and discrimination will follow.
With your support the year-long focus on human rights defenders who act to end discrimination, will make a difference and will inspire others to take up the challenge.
